This notice explains what personal information Phantom Development collects through this website, why, and what we do with it. We've kept it in plain English.
Who we are
Phantom Development is the trading name of Alex Nelson, a sole trader based in Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. For this website, we are the data controller. You can contact us about anything in this notice at info@phantomdevelopment.uk.
What we collect, and why
We only collect what you choose to give us.
- Contact form — your name, email address and message, so we can reply.
- Free website scan — the web address you enter. We check that site's public homepage; we don't store it or the results on our servers. If you ask us to email you the report, we use your email address to send it, and we receive a copy of the request so we can follow up.
- Free full audit request — your name, email, phone number (optional), website and your scan results, so we can prepare the audit and contact you about it.
- Booking a call — your name, email, phone number (if you choose WhatsApp or a phone call), website and any notes you add, so we can hold the call. The booking is added to our Google Calendar and Google sends you a calendar invite.
- Free review card tool — runs entirely in your browser. The logo and details you add are never sent to us.
Lawful basis. When you ask us for something — a reply, a report, an audit, a call — we use your details to do what you asked and to take steps towards working together if you want to (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and for our legitimate interest in following up a request you made (Article 6(1)(f)). Every form also asks you to confirm you're happy for us to contact you about it.
No mailing lists. We don't add you to marketing emails, and we never sell or rent your details.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes we'll ask for your consent first and update this notice.
Who handles your data for us
We use a small number of trusted services to run the site. Each only gets what it needs:
- Vercel — hosts this website.
- Resend — sends our emails (reports, confirmations, notifications).
- Google — Google Calendar holds bookings and sends invites; Google PageSpeed Insights tests the public web address you scan.
- SiteGround — our email inbox, where enquiries arrive.
Some of these providers process data in the United States. Where they do, transfers are covered by the UK's approved safeguards (the UK–US data bridge or standard contractual clauses).
How long we keep it
Enquiries, audit requests and booking details are kept for up to 24 months from our last contact, then deleted — unless you become a client, in which case they form part of our normal business records.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your data
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to it
Email info@phantomdevelopment.uk and we'll respond within one month. There's no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
